• Learn that a click means press and let go once, and that holding the button down does something different.

Frequently asked questions

My child has never touched a computer. Can they still do this?

Yes. Everything is answered on paper from pictures, and the sheet assumes no prior experience. Showing them a phone or tablet screen while you work is enough real-world reference.

Why does my child keep mixing up mouse and monitor?

Both start with the same sound, which is the single most common Grade 1 error here. Saying 'monitor - the one you look at' every time you read the word clears it up faster than correcting the written answer.

Should I teach typing at this stage?

Not formal touch typing. Finding a named letter on the keyboard is the Grade 1 skill; correct finger placement is usually introduced around Grade 3 or 4.
