Frequently asked questions
Are the questions about our own family or a general one?
Both. Some ask for standard definitions, others invite your child to describe their own family, and personal answers are fully acceptable there.
What is the difference between a nuclear and a joint family?
A nuclear family is parents and their children living together; a joint family also includes grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins in the same home.
My child calls a cousin 'brother'. Is that a mistake on the worksheet?
In everyday speech it is common, but the worksheet asks for the formal relationship: your uncle's or aunt's child is a cousin. Drawing the tree makes the distinction visible.
