- Explain how a balanced diet changes with age, activity level and health condition.
How to use this worksheet
Grade 5 answers are judged on reasoning, not recall, so push for the 'because' on every question. 'Chlorination is used because it kills germs but does not remove mud' is a Grade 5 answer; 'chlorination cleans water' is a Grade 3 one.

Frequently asked questions
Does RO water need boiling too?
Generally no, since reverse osmosis removes both dissolved impurities and most microbes. The worksheet asks this to test whether a child can match a method to the impurity it targets.
Should answers be written in full paragraphs?
For the 'explain' and 'suggest' questions, yes - two or three sentences with a reason. Labelling and matching questions can stay short.
Is a diagram expected for the water cycle?
A labelled sketch with evaporation, condensation, precipitation and collection is a strong answer at Grade 5 and usually earns full credit.
